Guatemala Information
a short-term mission team in October 2024. We had a three fold effort:
1. a construction team, partnering with congregational members, that made repairs to the worship area,
2. a VBS team that provided programming for the childrens' after school program and Saturday "Kids Club" and
3. a medical team (2 providers and 6 nurses) that staffed an onsite health clinic seeing 174 patients over six days.
We were also able to do outreach to two area schools sharing a Bible lesson and teaching oral health to several classes.
Santa Cruz is served by Pastor and Physician Elry Aguirre and his wife, Liz Cisneros, a Deaconess and pharmacist. They have been serving the people of Amititlan for over 20 years reaching out with the love of Jesus to a community that lives in extreme poverty. Improving education and healthcare along with a Lutheran witness have been their mission goals.
